Wonderful Experience of Cape Verde
As a family with kids, we had always planned very safe, Mediterranean all inclusive holidays. This time I took my two young children to Cape Verde for them to experience something different.
The combination of people of Portuguese/African descent and the feel of a Caribbean holiday made this a holiday to forget. The fact that Cape Verde is so underdeveloped adds to the charm of the place. Its relaxed vibe with a variation of things to see and do makes Cape Verde a perfect family and single persons destination with adventure just around the corner should you wish to participate.
Santa Maria Beach is outstanding and its cleanliness is second to none. Isla de Sal is, without doubt, the most beautiful I have ever visited in my 41 years. People are very friendly, the hotels are of a high standard also. We cannot wait to go back to Cape Verde for another adventure to bring back so many memories of our first visit and to keep the family memories going. I would highly recommend the Hotel Oasis Belorizonte which is ideally located next to the beach with just a short walk to the town centre and to that of the pier. One downside to the area is that there is clearly a lot of poverty on the island but this does not make the locals any less friendly or unwelcoming.
Get yourself to Cape Verde for the experience of a lifetime. Make sure that you do visit all parts of the island of Sal, you can hire a car for as little as 50 euro a day and the island is only small so you really can see all the key parts of the island in one day. Another way to see the inner parts of the island is via a Buggy Safari. This comes highly recommended as a safe, fun and exciting way to see some of the other places that you aren't able to see by car... Get yourself off the road.
I wonder why more tourists are not visiting Cape Verde, it is a perfect destination for all year round sunshine. I would be happy to answer any questions that any potential visitors to Cape Verde would have.
